Air France and KLM Lounges: The Complete Access Guide
How to access Air France and KLM lounges: eligibility by status and ticket type, lounge locations, services available, and practical tips for making the most of your visit.
Lounge access genuinely changes how you experience airports. Air France and KLM operate excellent lounges at CDG and Amsterdam Schiphol, and Flying Blue Gold, Platinum, and Ultimate members can access them on virtually every international departure. Here's everything you need to know.
Who Can Access Air France/KLM Lounges?
Access depends on two factors combined: your ticket type and your Flying Blue status.
Access Based on Your Ticket
- Business Class and La Première passengers: automatic access included
- Economy and Premium Economy passengers: access only with Gold status or above
Access Based on Flying Blue Status

| Platinum | Yes | Yes | 1 guest |

Exact rules vary by airport. SkyTeam partner flights (Qantas, Japan Airlines, WestJet, and others) also qualify for Gold+ members.

SkyTeam Lounges Around the World
As a Gold member or above, you're entitled to lounge access at hundreds of SkyTeam lounges globally when traveling on a SkyTeam-operated flight. This covers Delta Air Lines, Korean Air, Aeromexico, China Southern, and dozens of others within the alliance.
Important: SkyTeam lounge access typically requires that you're actually flying on a SkyTeam-operated flight — not just a codeshare on a non-alliance carrier.
Buying Lounge Access Without Status
No Gold status yet? Other options exist:
- Pay at the door: around €40–70 per person depending on the lounge
- Priority Pass: gives access to partner lounges, but NOT official Air France/KLM lounges
- Premium credit cards: some include lounge access benefits
Practical Tips to Make the Most of It
Why Lounge Access Makes Gold Worth Pursuing
Lounge access is the most tangible, immediately visible perk of Gold status. A single visit to an Air France or KLM lounge — a meal, a drink, a comfortable seat, fast internet — is easily worth €30–60. If you take 10–15 lounge-eligible flights per year, that's €300–900 in comfort and convenience. For frequent travelers, this benefit alone can justify the effort of reaching Gold.
