Strategy to reach this status
100 XP in 12 months = around 5 AMS-JFK round-trips in Economy (20 XP each) or 2 round-trips in long-haul Business class (60 XP each).
With the Amex Platinum Flying Blue card (60 XP/year), you only need 40 XP from flights — just 2 transatlantic round-trips in Economy.
Frequent intra-European traveller: 10 medium-haul flights in Economy = 10 × 5 XP = 50 XP. Add a few long-haul flights to complete.
If you're approaching 280 total XP (Gold threshold), don't stop at Silver — aim for Gold directly: SkyTeam lounges are life-changing.
